Located in the fashionable Courchevel 1850, Sumosan introduces its inaugural Alpine hub within the Six Senses Residences. This culinary destination seamlessly marries minimalist Japanese design with nuanced hints inspired by its alpine surroundings. Injecting a playful touch into the ambience, the iconic Sumosan Sumo figure adorns a range of ski attire, adding a lighthearted sense of humour. The bar embodies the perfect après-ski experience, offering imaginative cocktails alongside an exquisite array of sushi and sashimi. At the same time, the restaurant exclusively opens its doors for dinner service.

Within this meticulously curated environment, meticulous lighting is assured by the Lutron Homeworks system, thoughtfully programmed to evoke various moods and scenes. The sound system employs custom-made speakers, ensuring an even distribution of audio coverage throughout the expansive dining area.

Sumosan made its mark in Courchevel by introducing its signature sushi and contemporary Japanese dishes to the heart of Courchevel in 1850. Departing from traditional fondue and raclette offerings, the restaurant and bar offer a refreshing and innovative alternative.

The menu masterfully presents Sumosan’s iconic favourites amidst the snowy slopes. Guests can indulge in an array of delights, including tuna and truffle rolls, Japanese salmon rice pizza, grilled sea bass with a zesty citrus ginger sauce, and the sumptuous Furikake-crusted rack of lamb complemented by a mustard sauce. Notably, innovative and exclusive dishes grace the menu, such as the exquisite black caviar rice pizza and meticulously crafted torched sushi creations—think calamari ink powder-infused squid and unagi paired with an unagi cotton candy sauce. An element of excitement is introduced through table-side torching, reminding patrons that the thrill extends beyond the ski slopes.
